Greetings from Pune, India!
On behalf of the Foundation for Research and Education in Endoscopy (FREE), it is a
pleasure to invite you all to a
yet another unique focused Single Theme Conference & Hands on Workshop on
“Endoscopic Closure Techniques” on August
15, 16 & 17th August 2025 at Pune!
The last few years have witnessed a tremendous surge in Endoscopic Technology
especially Endoscopic Closure
techniques, including several types of specialized through-the-scope &
over-the-scope clips, tacking & suturing
devices and other novel techniques. The need to perform endoscopic closure is often
felt by every endoscopist,
interventional or otherwise. Further, as surgical interventional endoscopy evolves
and gains global acceptance,
endoscopic closure devices and procedures have evolved tremendously, and we are
often unaware of the nuances of
these technologies.

As the basket of endoscopic closure devices grows steadily, the clinical endoscopist is often
confronted with the
challenge to choose appropriately and wisely amongst these options during a particular clinical
situation. Given the
plethora of available devices and options, this can often become difficult. To increase
awareness regarding
endoscopic closure and to help endoscopists select appropriate options, this year we have
planned a special single
theme course on Endoscopic Closure Techniques, which will address and discuss these
requirements.
This two-day course will consist of Live Endoscopy procedures demonstrating various Endoscopic
Closure Techniques,
accompanied by Video Lectures and Video based interactive Case Discussions and Panel discussions
to bring out the
nuances and differences regarding various closure devices and techniques. The focus of these
scientific discussions
will be to understand the principles and techniques of tissue closure, to familiarize oneself
with the various
closure devices and identify and discuss common pitfalls and areas of troubleshooting while
using these devices.
An expert panel of International Experts have already confirmed their participation, along with
our own galaxy of
National Stars!
The conference begins 5.00 pm on Friday, August 15th with Keynote Lectures and a Dinner
Symposium that will showcase
two-hours of invited Live Endoscopy from two International Centers. On Saturday, August 16th, we
shall have a full
day of Live Endoscopy and Video based Interactive Discussions. On Sunday, 17th, a specially
curated Hands-on
Training Masterclass for various endoscopic closure techniques including several types of
through-the-scope and
over-the-scope clips, X-tack, Endoscopic Suturing and others will be available for
pre-registered candidates.
